Load Multiple Tabs from a Zip File

Saved reporting tabs are shared as Pulse Tab (.ptab) files and loaded through Load from file... on the add-tab (+) menu. Until now, tabs had to be loaded one file at a time. This release lets you select a zip archive instead and load every saved tab inside it in a single step.

How it works

  1. Click the + button next to your reporting tabs and choose Load from file...
  2. In the file dialog, select either a single .ptab file (exactly as before) or a .zip archive.
  3. PULSE Dashboard loads every Pulse Tab file found in the archive. Each one opens as a new reporting tab.

Any zip archive created with standard tools — including the Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder option built into Windows — works without special preparation.

Clear reporting when something goes wrong

The zip loader is designed so that one bad file never spoils the rest:

  • If the archive contains no Pulse Tab files at all, PULSE Dashboard tells you so instead of silently doing nothing.
  • If some entries load and others do not, a summary shows how many tabs were loaded and lists the entries that failed.
  • A damaged or unreadable entry is skipped; every other tab in the archive still loads.

A convenient way to share a set of related tabs

Zip files make it easy to hand a colleague a complete working set — for example, a group of purchasing reports tuned for month-end — as a single attachment. The recipient loads the whole set with one Load from file... action instead of repeating it for each tab.
