Single & Multi-Level Bill of Material enhancement

Adapted from the Pulse Dashboard fact sheet "Single & Multi-Level Bill of Material Enhancement", August 2023.

Two bill of material reporting options, one standard and one custom.

Single-Level BOM report

A standard report that comes with the software. It converts easily into a Single-Level Where-Used report — the same data read from the other end, which is what you want when a component changes and you need to know what it goes into.

Multi-Level BOM report

Built for customers who need a report that can be adjusted to a wide variety of needs. It requires the Designer module, and there is a charge for the report and for any modifications.

The report uses the Advanced Screen Designer option, so it comes in two panels. The top panel lists your manufactured items; click a manufactured item number and the indented multi-level bill of material appears in the lower panel.

Customizing it

The Multi-Level BOM report was designed to be modified. One customer variant answers a different question: do we have enough of each component on hand to make what the customer has ordered?

In that version the upper panel lists all unshipped customer orders. Click an item and the lower panel shows the indented bill of material, flagging any component whose available quantity is insufficient.

Included in the Inventory Optimization module.
