Compatibility and Upgrade Notes

This release changes a platform requirement. Please read this page before upgrading.

The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is now required

PULSE Dashboard 5.66.0.0 is built against the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8, and will not run on an earlier version. The framework ships with Windows 10 from the May 2019 update onward and with Windows 11, so most workstations already have it. Older workstations, and servers running PULSE Dashboard as a scheduled job, may need it installed first — it is a free download from Microsoft and generally requires a restart.

If you are unsure which workstations are affected, our support team is glad to help you check before you roll the upgrade out.

Excel export libraries are now supplied with PULSE Dashboard

The libraries PULSE Dashboard uses to write Excel files are now installed alongside the application rather than taken from the copy registered on the workstation. Exports behave the same way, and no setting changes. The practical effect is that an export no longer depends on which version of the Excel libraries happens to be registered on a particular machine.

Other notes

• No database schema changes are introduced in this release.
• Existing saved tabs, reports and module settings are preserved on upgrade.
• The On-time Shipping Graph drilldown becomes available immediately after the upgrade; no setup is required, though the drilldown grid opens without columns until you configure its layout.
• Edit Settings on the Query Analyzer now requires Admin mode. Any existing grant of that permission to a user or usergroup no longer takes effect — see Admin-Only Edit Settings.
• The revisions issued as 5.65.1 and 5.65.2 are included in this release.
