Quality Packing module

Adapted from the Pulse Dashboard fact sheet "Quality Packing Module — improving the quality of production lines that fill and pack liquids, powders or solids", March 2016.

Quality Packing monitors fill lines in real time. For each item you specify the quality tests to be performed and how often — target fill weights, torque tests, label alignment, inspection tests — and the results are keyed as they happen rather than onto a clipboard or into a spreadsheet at the end of the shift.

How a run works

  1. Key the production order number. The bill of material is displayed.
  2. Key the staging bin number holding the fill material, containers and labels.
  3. Quality personnel test a sample and approve the start of the run.
  4. Key the line number, shift number, supervisor's name, start time and crew size, and start filling.
  5. The screen reminds the operator when each test is due, and colors the test red when it is late.
  6. Test results are keyed in real time at their scheduled interval.
  7. Actual production quantities display if cases are being scanned as they fill.
  8. Run time, downtime and break times can be recorded too.

Supervision

Production management monitors the status of every fill line from the Observer screens — one screen, all lines.

With the Wisys WMS software, planned against actual reported quantities are visible in real time.

Extensive audit trails and reports are included.
